What Are the Factors of 9?

The factors of 9 are 1, 3, 9.

Getting 9's factors is done like this. 1 and 9 are the first two factors.

  1. Try 1. 1 x 9 = 9, so put these into our factor list.
    1...9

  2. Take 2... no good. 9/2 isn't a whole number. So we skip 2.

  3. Now take 3. 3 x 3 = 9, so we add it to our list of factors. There are no numbers between 3 and itself, so we can stop.
